| Note: 1 Square = 100 square feet = 9.29 square metres. Total area to be insulated should be calculated using outside wall measurements. Quantities in tables have been adjusted to allow for either wall, ceiling or floor timbers and outside walls. These figures are intended as a guide only. | |||
Calculation of ThermaFlex® Requirements
Floor Plan: (not to scale)

A = 3 metres, B = 3 metres, C = 6 metres, D = 5 metres, E= 9 metres, F = 5 metres, G = 3 metres.
Calculation for Roof or Floor area:
(A x B) + (D x E) = Area to be insulated
For Example : using the wall lengths from the example above, the area of the roof or floor is;
(3 x 3) + (5 x 9) = 53 square metres to be insulated
Calculation for Wall area:
(A+B+C+D+E+F+G) x (Height of walls from floor to ceiling) LESS (area of windows and doors) = Area to be insulated
For Example: using the wall lengths from the above example and a Wall Height of 2.4 metres. Assume area of doors and windows is 16 square metres. Then the Area of all the walls is;
(3 + 3 + 6 + 5 + 9 + 5 + 3) x 2.4 – 16 = 65.6 square metres to be insulated
Check areas to be insulated against above table for the number of ThermaFlex® packs required.
