The challenge for this retro fit project, the architects needed a cost effective, but efficient solution to insulate the hospital patient areas from the undercover carpark and flat roof. The site was required to meet BCA Section J energy rating and was subject to the cold blasts of winter and the heat of the Melbourne summer.
With a short timeframe for construction material needed to be immediately available and be able to be erected quickly around existing services mounted in roof areas. The solution needed to be aesthetically appealing.
RMAX worked with the builders to develop the right specification of ThermaStar™ double foil sided expanded polystyrene insulation panel that met both insulation and aesthetic needs, which was installed by Star Ceilings and Partitions.
The combination of the superior insulation qualities of RMAX Expanded Polystyrene together with the exceptional reflective qualities of aluminium foil produced an outstanding insulation medium together with a pleasant aesthetic.
This development is another demonstration of RMAX Innovation in expanded polystyrene building products working to produce six star Insulation.
